Tasmanian potato growers supplying McCain have agreed on a price cut of $26.50 per tonne for this season.
Negotiations have gone on for six months, and farmers have met with the company 16 times.
The price follows what was negotiated by South Australian farmers earlier this month.
Boat Harbour grower Wally Elphinstone says he accepts that the price was the best that could be negotiated, but he's still disappointed.
"We're still going to grow some. I just hope it will come better next year. I probably need to keep a foot in the door and hold on to at least some of my contract so I've got a chance to hopefully gain a bit of money back next year."
